Leading Cellular Tower Construction Company Obtains Altx Listing Approval

18 October 2006

Africa Cellular Towers Limited (“ACTowers”), pioneers in the construction of cellular towers in Africa, has obtained approval from the Altx Committee to list. Exchange Sponsors, their Designated Adviser, says that they are expecting the company to list towards the end of November 2006.

ACTowers, based in Alberton and Johannesburg, was established by Chris Kruger, an entrepreneur and turnkey specialist in the construction of cellular towers, in 1999. Chris and his team have grown the business from humble beginnings, starting with their first cellular tower in Gabon in 1999, to a leading manufacturing company conducting business as manufacturers and fabricators of steel communication towers, portal factories, steel fencing, diesel and water tanks, solar structures and general steel engineering.

ACTowers also specialises in the management of turnkey telecommunications network projects including GSM, wireless local loop, fixed wireless and VSAT technology.
The company provides turnkey solutions or tower parts for tower construction in Africa and other emerging markets, such as the Gulf States and India.

Africa has experienced tremendous growth in the cellular telecommunications sector and is perceived as the fastest growing cellular phone market in the world today. This growth is expected to continue in the region as cellular telephones are the main method of communication. . As ACTowers has positioned itself as a leading provider in the field of manufacture and supply of cellular towers to the major cellular network providers in Africa, they are well positioned for exceptional growth over the next few years. ACTowers currently operates in 24 African countries out of a potential of 53 countries.
